Biei Station
Completed in 1952, Biei Station is made of stones from Biei and very popular to visitors. It was partially renovated in 1988 and serves well as the gateway to Biei.
비에이역
1952년에 준공된 비에이 역사는 비에이난석을 사용한 석조건물로 건축되어, 비에이 관광 명소의 하나입니다. 또한 국철 분할 민영화와 함께 1988년에 일부 개조되어, 비에이쵸의 관문에 어울리는 역사가 되었습니다.
The main street of Biei
As per the local construction agreement during land readjustment project started in 1989, the houses in the main street used soft stone from Biei at the lower part in the front of the houses to create unique 'Village of hills' look of Biei. The houses are in unified form and the electric wires are buried under the ground which gives even more beautiful view of the street. Service house “Biei Hill Warehouse” and gallery “bi.yell” are located along the street and receive many visitors.
비에이의 거리
1989년부터 착공된 혼도오리 토지구획 정리사업에서는 지역의 건축협정에 따라 건물 정면의 아랫부분에 비에이 연석이 사용되어, “언덕의 마을” 비에이의 특색 있는 거리를 만들어 냈습니다. 도로변의 집은 디자인을 통일 하고, 또한 전주를 땅속으로 넣어버림으로써, 보다 아름다운 거리가 될 수 있도록 하고 있습니다. 돌로 만들어진 휴게소 “비에이 언덕의 창고”나 갤러리 “비옐 (비에루)” 등이 인기 있는 방문장소 입니다.
Ken and Mary Tree
This poplar tree is standing on a hill of Biei. After being featured in Nissan commercial for its ‘Ken and Mary’s Skyline’ sold from 1972 September to 1977 and Nissan’s 4th generation Skyline’s 15th commercial ‘Travel without a map’, its names after the characters from the commercial. Mostly likely, it’s the most famous and popular tree in Biei.
켄과 메리 나무
비에이의 언덕 지대에 우뚝 선 한 그루의 커다란 포 풀러 나무 입니다.
1972년 9월부터 1977년까지 판매된 일명 “켄과 메리의 스카이라인”, 닛산의 4대 스카이라인의 광고 제15편 “지도 없는 여행” 편의 로케이션 장소로 사용되었습니다.
광고 방송 후에 관광명소가 되어 광고 속 인물의 이름을 따서 “켄과 메리 나무”라고 불리고 있습니다. 아마도 비에이에서 가장 잘 알려져 있고 인기가 있는 나무일 것입니다.
Hokusei Hill
This is an observatory park that is equipped with parking lot and lavatory. From the pyramid shaped observation deck, you can view hills in Patchwork Road, Daisetsuzan and other peaks. Lavender is blooming in summer time and it’s popular to cyclists and tourists. From photo gallery and shops run by local farmers, you can purchase photos of beautiful hills of Biei or enjoy delicious snacks like croquet, ice cream, and soft drinks. Tourist information center is also available.
호쿠세이 언덕
주차장과 화장실이 완비되어 있는 이 전망대는 피라미드형의 삼각전망대에서부터 패치워크 언덕과 다이세츠산 주변 산봉우리들을 볼 수 있습니다.
여름에는 라 벤더가 한창 피어서 사이클링이나 관광객들의 휴식장소로도 인기가 있습니다. 주차장 부근에는 사진 갤러리와 농가 직영의 판매소가 있어서 아름다운 언덕의 사진이나 쟈가바타 (버터 감자), 크로켓, 음료수, 아이스크림을 즐길 수 있습니다. 관광안내소도 마련되어 있습니다.
Oyako Tree
Standing side by side are 3 oak trees. The way they stand resembles parents and a child and always stand strong even on a rainy day. Hence the name Oyako, parent and child. A few years ago, the little one was broken on a strong windy day and replanted afterward. Hopefully, they stand strong as ever.
오야코 (모자) 나무
사이 좋게 나란히 선 떡갈나무입니다. 그 모습이 마치 아버지와 어머니 사이에 어린아이가 있는 듯한 모습으로, 비가 와도 바람이 불어도 사이 좋게 서있는 모습에서 “오야코(모자나무)”라는 이름이 붙여졌습니다. 몇 년 전에 태풍으로 작은 나무가 부러져버렸지만, 그 후 다시 심어졌습니다.
이대로 건강하게 컸으면 하는 바람입니다.
Mildseven Hill
A shelterbelt of larch trees on top of a hill. It’s named after Japanese cigarette brand Mildseven since it was featured on the package. In autumn, the larch trees are colored in golden. It is one of the most popular spot in Biei. However, the road is narrow and its right in the middle of farming field, tourist’s cautiousness is needed.
마일드세븐 언덕
마일드세븐 언덕은 방풍림으로 심어놓은 낙엽송들이 언덕 위에 줄지어 늘어서있는 곳입니다. 1978년에 일본 담배 마일드세븐의 패키지에 사용된 후 마일드세븐 언덕이라고 불리게 됐습니다. 가을에는 낙엽송들이 황금색으로 빛납니다.
비에이에서 가장 인기 있는 장소이기도 하지만, 도로의 폭이 좁기 때문에 농사에 방해가 되지 않도록 해야 합니다.
Seven Star Tree
This tree became overnight sensation after its image was used on Japanese cigarette package back in 1976. Since then it is called ‘Seven Star’ after the cigarette brand name. It’s located in the north south of Patchwork Road. Big parking lot is nearby and it’s popular to photographers and tourists especially during sunset. You can enjoy 360 degree view of Patchwork Road from this tree.
세븐스타 나무
1976년에 일본 담배 세븐스타의 패키지에 이 나무의 사진이 쓰이게 된 후에 세븐스타라는 이름이 붙었습니다. 패치워크 언덕에서 가장 북서쪽에 해당합니다.
주차장도 정비되어 있어서, 특히 일몰 시간에는 많은 사진가나 커플, 관광객들로 붐빕니다. 또한 패치워크 언덕을 360도 즐길 수 있습니다.
Patchwork Hill
Actually, there is no particular hill names ‘Patchwork’. It called so because various crops with different colors are growing in the farming fields at the foot of the mountains and they look like a patchwork. Especially in the summer when wheat field is golden, it’s the best time to enjoy the patchwork fields.
패치워크 언덕
패치워크 언덕이라는 명칭의 언덕은 없습니다.
산기슭의 밭에는 다양한 작물들이 재배되고 있으며, 그 작물들의 색의 조합이 패치워크 모양으로 보이기 때문에 이렇게 불리고 있습니다.
특히 밀이 황금빛으로 물드는 여름에는 그야말로 패치워크 모양. 많은 관광객들로 붐빕니다.
